On the occasion of the “International Rural Women Day “(October, the 15th), the Central Organization Rural Cooperatives of Iran (CORC) published a summary report on the taken measures for boosting the role of the rural women in the domestic economy.

Iran Adopts New Approaches to Enhance the Rural Women’s Role
On the occasion of the "International Rural Women Day" (October, the 15th), the Central Organization Rural Cooperatives of Iran (CORC) published a summary report on the taken measures for boosting the role of the rural women in the domestic economy.
Confirming the significance of the rural women in the economic, social and cultural sustainability, this report reviews the rural women cooperatives as the enterprises to achieve the sustainable development goals(SDGs). These cooperatives have been aimed to organize rural women in a participatory approach organization to produce, process and marketing crops. These kinds of economic endeavors will not only improve the life standards of the rural household but also decrease gender -based biases.
According to the vision and mission of CORC, envisaged in the Bylaw, there have been developed a variety of different projects to support the rural women in the different fields including:
1. Capital raising to proceed the current projects, detecting and representing the investment potentials of the rural women cooperatives
2. Improved marketing through product quality management, branding and holding trade fairs
3. Facilitating the abroad marketing for the products of the rural women cooperatives through cooperation with the involving organizations to attend the international trade fairs;
4. Boosting the entrepreneurship based on the society needs by supporting the Small micro-enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneur women;
5. Enhancing the members’ participation for production leap through organizing a national union, engaging the rural women in the different working fields by providing professional and skill training courses.
